I can’t remember the first time Dennis and I ate chicken together. For sure, it was still back when we were still getting to know each other A.K.A dating. I knew that his favorite part of the chicken is the leg part because he always gets that part. And for as long as I can recall, that was my favorite part too since I was a kid. Please note that I said ‘was’. Past tense, not anymore. However, I still have a favorite thing to do with chicken legs: and that is, to give it to Dennis whenever we eat chicken together. ? But why, you may ask?
For starters, we won’t start an “who-should-get-the-chicken-leg” argument. And anyway, there are 2 legs per chicken. If I really want one, I’m sure Dennis would oblige. ?
Second, I do it because I want my husband to be happy. It may be a seemingly petty thing, but for the same reason that it’s a petty thing – why not? It’s just a chicken leg anyway.
Lastly, you do everything to give joy to the people you love within the bounds of the laws of the land and the laws of God. Even if it means sacrificing something as petty as a chicken leg, or something as consequential as the sacrifice of One’s life for another.
1 Peter 2:24 reads, “He himself bore our sins” in his body on the cross, so that we might die to sins and live for righteousness; “by his wounds you have been healed.”
The “He” that is pertained in the text above is Jesus. And the story of why He died on the cross is still the best love story there is. Ever. Jesus died on the cross for me, so I can live my life and live it fully with the promise of His presence for all eternity. He died for me, so we can be together in heaven forever. Sweet, right? ❤️
But you know something else? Jesus died for you, too. ❤️ If you want to know more about this, hit me up on the comment section below or, send me a private message on the Contact Me page of this site. ?
